What a Toronto job actually looks like

Toronto has a large stock of three-storey walk-ups and converted houses, mostly in Parkdale, the Junction and the east end, where there is no elevator and the staircase turns twice. That is the shape of most labour bookings here: not a long carry, but a hard one. Downtown condo labour is the opposite problem — a flat route, but only inside a booked service-elevator window, so the clock matters more than the weight.

Moving Labor & Helping Hands in Toronto — Questions

How much does moving help cost in Toronto?

Pricing depends on the vehicle size, the distance, and how long the job takes — not a flat call-out fee. You see the quote in the MoovDrop app before you confirm, so there is nothing to negotiate at the door. Most single-item jobs in Toronto start from around $49.

Can I book moving help in Toronto the same day?

Yes. Same-day is the normal case rather than the exception — drivers are usually matched within 1-2 hours across Toronto and the wider Greater Toronto Area. You can also schedule ahead if you are working to a building's elevator booking or a store's pickup window.

Which parts of Toronto do you cover?

All of Toronto, including Downtown, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Pickup and drop-off can be in different cities — a Toronto pickup delivering elsewhere in Greater Toronto Area is a normal job, not a special request.

Will the driver help me load and carry?

Yes — that is the part that separates MoovDrop from renting a van. Book labour with or without a vehicle — for a piano-sized item or a third-floor walk-up, you can request a second mover. If the item is heavy or awkward, you can request a second mover when you book.

What should I know before booking in Toronto?

Toronto has a large stock of three-storey walk-ups and converted houses, mostly in Parkdale, the Junction and the east end, where there is no elevator and the staircase turns twice. That is the shape of most labour bookings here: not a long carry, but a hard one. Downtown condo labour is the opposite problem — a flat route, but only inside a booked service-elevator window, so the clock matters more than the weight.

Before your move

Service Guidelines

Home Helping Service

If you require assistance from the driver during your move, the driver may enter your home to help lift and move items related to your MoovDrop delivery. The driver will park in a designated loading zone or safe parking area before entering the property.

Item Photos

All items must be photographed and uploaded prior to the move request. Any item not photographed before pickup may not be accepted and will not be covered under MoovDrop protection policies.

Packaging and Item Safety

All items must be properly packaged and secured before pickup. Open containers, loose items, or improperly packed items will not be accepted. Items such as liquids, food, gas, alcohol, glass, or other fragile materials must be safely packaged, sealed, and clearly labeled as “Fragile” or “Caution” where applicable.

Waiting Fee

Please be prepared to assist the driver with lifting any items that require two people to move safely. If the customer is not ready for the move upon the driver's arrival, or if the driver is required to wait, a waiting fee of $1 per minute will apply after the first 15 minutes.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

It is the customer's responsibility to select the correct vehicle size for the delivery. If there are too many items or the items are too large for the selected vehicle, additional charges may apply or the order may need to be rescheduled.
